Tharisa appoints new nonexecutive director

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – LSE- and JSE-listed platinum group metals and chrome producer Tharisa has appointed Roger Davey as independent nonexecutive director, effective June 1.

Davey holds an MSc in mineral production management from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London and an MSc in water resource management and water environment from Bournemouth University.

He has more than 30 years' operational experience at senior management and director level in the mining industry in South America, Africa and Europe.

His experience at senior management level includes financing, feasibility studies, construction, development, commissioning and operational management of both underground and surface mining operations in gold and base metals.

Davey will be serving on the risk; remuneration; and safety, health and environment committees of Tharisa.
