Project Description
The project involves the connection of a megawatt-scale lithium battery storage facility to the electricity grid.

The facility will be part of the developing smart grid of the future. Its function is to balance the electricity supply.

The facility will comprise an estimated 15 000 lithium-ion battery cells, which can temporarily store the electricity generated by Helen’s solar power plants, in Suvilahti (340 kWp) and Kivikko (850 kWp). The latter is currently under construction.

The project is estimated at €2-million.

The project is expected to be commissioned in 2016.
