Sunward South Africa unveils new facility in Boksburg

Drill, earth-moving and construction equipment supplier Sunward South Africa has unveiled a new dedicated office, warehouse and workshop facility in Jet Park, in Boksburg, to better serve the Southern African mining and construction markets. Marleny Arnoldi attended the launch.

Sunward South Africa is part of the Shenzen-listed Sunward Intelligent Equipment Group, which is among the top 50 global construction equipment manufacturers. The group produces more than 11 000 excavators and drill rigs a year.

Sunward South Africa is now in a position to distribute to and service machinery of customers directly, while its main distributor, Azize Equipment, will remain a supplier of the company’s range of equipment.

The Sunward group has successfully developed more than 200 high-end products in the fields of underground engineering equipment, excavators, rock drilling equipment, mining equipment, hoisting machinery, hydraulic components and general aviation equipment.

On the continent, it currently has numerous machines operating in Namibia, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sunward South Africa is particularly focused on expanding its market share in the mining industry, with its portfolio including three distinct surface drilling machines and a range of down-hole drill rigs. The company’s flagship rock drill model has served coal miners in the country well, offering efficient fuel consumption levels, low emissions, simplicity of operation and easy maintenance.

Meng elaborates on the company’s marketing strategy and future expansion plans, including local employment.
