Stainless steel filter regulator for harsh environments

The PCRP filter regulator from Festo

Festo has designed a range of automation solutions suitable for water treatment, food and beverage and mining applications. The company’s PCRP filter regulator is said to deliver high flow rates and reliable compressed air pressure control in harsh environments. Its housing and interior are made entirely of premium stainless steel to ensure high corrosion resistance. The ultraviolet-resistant PCRP is designed to function effectively outdoors and at temperatures ranging from -60 °C to 80 °C. It also consists of earth points for potentially explosive zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.

The PCRP's stainless steel 316 l housing is said to meet all material requirements in NACE MR0175, which guarantees a high level of corrosive resistance even in hydrogen sulphide environments such as those in the petrochemical industry.

The PCRP combines filter and pressure regulator functions in a single space-saving design. It has a flow rate of up to 4.115 l /m and a 5 µm or 40 µm grade filtration, depending on the ISO 8573 air quality compliance level required. The unit's patented seal technology is designed to protect against backflow and ensure reliable exhausting without special accessories.

The PCRP has two pressure gauge connections for greater mounting flexibility and can be installed in-line or using the available mounting bracket. Once in place the pressure gauge can be screwed in, with pneumatic connections either ¼" or 1/2" in G or NPT thread.
