JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The 62 South Africans working at mineral sands producer Kenmare Resource’s Moma mine, in Mozambique, have returned to work.

The workers were last week temporarily repatriated as a precautionary measure, owing to unrest and attacks against foreign nationals working in South Africa, which had led to threats against South Africans working in Mozambique and other African countries.

The Aim-listed company noted on Tuesday that there had been minimal disruptions to operations at the mine, as the staff returned quickly after the repatriation started on April 20.

Employees were welcomed back on arrival by the local community’s traditional leader and have now returned to regular shift patterns.
