The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has appointed Jeremiah Lengoasa CEO.

He returns to SAWS after 12 years, after he left the organisation to join the World Meteorological Organisation, in Geneva, Switzerland, as assistant secretary-general in August 2005.

Thereafter, he was appointed as the deputy secretary-general in 2010, a position he held until August 2016.

Lengoasa succeeds Dr Linda Makuleni.
