Location
The greenfield solar plant will be built in Segou, about 236 km north-east of Bamako, in Mali.

Client
Scatec Solar ASA, a joint venture between Scatec Solar (50%), the International Finance Corporation (32.5%) and Africa Power Segou Solar (17.5%).

Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 33 MW solar power plant. The plant will produce an estimated 60 000 MWh/y. The ground-mounted PV solar plant will deploy about 130 000 PV modules on a fixed tilt system and will connect to an existing transmission line. When completed, the plant will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 46 000 t.

Jobs to be Created
During the construction phase, the project will create 200 local jobs.

€52-million.

The construction phase is expected to take about eight months.
