Schumann Tanks South Africa

Biogas plant design, specification and implementation company BiogasSA recently secured the official agency to supply and construct Germany-based Schumann Tank-und-Stahlbau’s bolted steel panel tanks to the domestic and Southern African markets.

Schumann, through BiogasSA, can provide tanks ranging from 50 m3 to 10 000 m3, for a wide spectrum of industries, from municipal wastewater treatment works, to mining, renewable industries (specifically biogas digester tanks) and agriculture.

Tanks can be manufactured in galvanised steel, stainless steel, glass coated or coated black steel panels for any type of application and comes with a guarantee of up to five years.

The Schumann tanks are bolted and assembled on site and no welding is required, which allows for reduced construction times, compared with other types of concrete tanks.

The tanks can also be open or covered with a number of different types of roofs, from solid to flexible gas-tight domes.

Owing to the company’s unique use of up-down construction, tank roofs can be installed at ground level, which makes the installation safer and quicker. BiogasSA can also provide its clients with the design and construction of suitable concrete foundations, thus providing a one-stop solution.

BiogasSA is located in Lanseria, Johannesburg, while Schumann Tank & Stahlbau operates from Wolmirstedt, Germany.

Schumann Tanks South Africa is in the process of securing premises in Alberton, Gauteng.
