Schneider Electric positioned as top-tier contender in Navigant Demand Response report

31st July 2015

Company Announcement - Schneider Electric, the global leader in energy management and automation, is pleased to highlight its ranking from Navigant Research as a serious  contender for demand response. This ranking appeared in a new report entitled “Navigant Research Leaderboard Report: Demand Response,” where demand response providers’ performance were evaluated in terms of Strategy and Execution criteria to provide this energy company shortlist.

Schneider Electric’s 2010 strategic partnership with French Curtailment Service Provider Energy Pool has consolidated Schneider’s diversified demand response activities covering consulting, technology solutions, managed and operations services. Through Energy Pool, Schneider is the largest CSP in Europe and is now active in the fledgling DR markets in South Korea and Japan. Ideally positioned to help balance supply and demand, Schneider has an extensive portfolio of products for building automation control systems, with SCADA capabilities, the StruxureWare software suite for buildings, and a web service for transferring data. For utilities, Schneider Electric has its Advanced Distribution Management System and its recent update of Energy Profiler Online. The Wiser and Efficiency Advisor residential consumer engagement solutions have also ensured presence on residential DR markets. The next generation, Wiser Air, introduced in 2015, will strengthen Schneider’s presence in the North American DR market, which will also be boosted by technology partnerships in both NA residential and Commercial & Industrial sectors.

“Schneider Electric believes that utilities will increasingly embrace Demand Management, dramatically changing their relationships with customers, bringing new services and as such, increase their profitability,” explains Jean-Yves Blanc, Schneider Electric’s Demand Management VP. “Navigant’s report shows we have the tools, techniques, and guidance to enhance this key utility-customer relationship, equally resulting in more stable generation and distribution and lower operating costs. Our ranking confirms we’re on the right path, with a compelling vision and the experience and footprint to ensure all our customers achieve their Demand Response program goals.”

This Navigant Research Leaderboard Report examines the strategy and execution of 13 leading DR providers. These DR players are rated on 10 criteria: vision; go-to-market strategy; partners; technology; geographic reach; sales, marketing, and distribution; product performance; product portfolio; pricing; and staying power. Using Navigant Research’s proprietary Leaderboard methodology, vendors are profiled, rated, and ranked with the goal of providing industry participants with an objective assessment of these companies’ relative strengths and weaknesses in the global C&I and residential DR markets.
