Project Description
The project was granted Strategic Integrated Project (SIP) status in October 2023 and entails the construction of a green hydrogen and ammonia complex.

The facility will use solar and wind power – which is expected to generate 2.5 GW produce hydrogen. The complex will be able to produce 85 000 t/y of green hydrogen.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to generate 2 500 jobs during construction, while more than 500 permanent positions will become available throughout the plant’s operational life.

Capital Expenditure
About $2.5-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
The production and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives are expected to start in early 2026.

Latest Developments
Planning works are under way and should be finalised by the third quarter of 2024, after which an investment decision will be made.
