South African national carrier South African Airways (SAA) and India international airline Jet Airways have expanded their codeshare agreement to allow passengers to book and travel between India and South Africa on the combined networks of the two airlines.

The enhanced codeshare arrangement allowed SAA to brand its marketing code on Jet Airways’ services between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Jet Airways would place its marketing code on SAA flights from Abu Dhabi to Johannesburg and beyond to Cape Town and Durban.

“There is substantial potential for trade growth between our two countries and our planned partnership aims to facilitate that growth. Through this agreement, SAA aims to greatly enhance the availability of affordable fares to help develop the growth of tourism from India into Southern Africa,” said SAA chief commercial officer Sylvain Bosc.
