PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Africa-focused gold miner Resolute Mining has increased production during the three months to December to 98 132 oz, compared with the 84 274 oz produced during the September quarter, as its Syama operation, in Mali, nearly doubled production.

During the quarter under review, the Syama operation delivered 43 918 oz of gold, compared with the 28 611 oz produced in the previous quarter, as benefits of the expansion project started to kick in.

The Golden Pride operation, in Tanzania, delivered 20 585 oz of gold, compared with the 16 612 oz produced in the three months to September, while the Ravenswood mine, in Australia, produced 33 629 oz in the three months to December, compared with the 39 051 oz produced in the previous quarter.

The Ravenswood operation was affected by lower grades during the quarter under review, as production from the Mount Wright orebody moved through a expected lower-grade section.

Resolute on Tuesday maintained its full-year production guidance, predicting that the company would deliver some 345 000 oz of gold during the full year, at an all-in sustaining cost of $1 175/oz.
