Record-breaking fun at SAESI2015

23rd June 2015

Company Announcement - The Southern African Emergency Services Institute is hosting its 30th conference from 4-6 November 2015. And, not only will the conference include an exhibition and training events, but there will also be a fun run and world record attempt taking place, for the whole family to enjoy. The fun run and world record attempt will allow delegates and their families to take part in fun events, which help to build a sense of community and allow industry members to interact with each other in an informal setting. The fun run will take place at the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre (approximately 14km from NASREC in Johannesburg) on 1 November. This 5/8km event is open to paid-up and potential SAESI members, and participants are encouraged to bring their families along.

The world record attempt will also take place on 1 November, earlier in the day, also at the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre. Help SAESI literally make history!

Resilient communities
This year’s theme is ‘Building resilient communities’. Join the Institute as it brings together national, provincial and local government officials, international, regional and civil society organisations, donors, the private sector, academia, and professional associations to play their part in contributing to building disaster resilient cities.

The conference will look at a strategy for resilient communities, seeking to devolve responsibilities beyond provincial governments to local government, communities and individuals. It will also look at improving management of incidents at all levels, by both emergency services and private companies. This year, the conference will feature an exciting new breakaway session conference structure to allow delegates to be more interactive (and proactive) in becoming part of the solution. Access to all events, including the fun run and world record attempt, is included in the conference price of only R6 600 per delegate.
