The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in the US, Oxford University and the University of Manchester, in the UK, and South Africa’s Hartebeeshoek Radio Astronomy Observatory (HartRAO – located to the west of Tshwane) are to construct a small radio telescope in the Karoo region of the Northern Cape province within the next 12 or so months.
