R45 maintenance project.

The R45 between Paarl and Malmesbury, in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works.

Project Description
The R45 was last refurbished in 1981.

The project will reseal the road, thereby extending the life of the existing pavement structure. It will include repairs to damaged culvert inlet, as well as outlet structures, the installation of edge beams at selected accesses, as well as new road markings.

Potential Job Creation
During the course of the project, R4.8-million will be spent on targeted enterprises and 5 500 person-days of work will be created for people from the Drakenstein and Swartland local municipal areas.

R32-million.

Duration
The project is expected to be completed by mid-2018.
