Property industry stalwart Gerald Leissner passed away on December 16.

Leissner was founder and CEO of JSE-listed property investment companies Arrowhead and Stenprop, as well as chairperson of Indluplace.

“Gerald was a great visionary and inspiring mentor. As one of the great pioneers of the South African property sector, his death is a tragic loss to the company and sector. His contribution as a civic and community leader was also immense, benefiting countless organisations and individuals. Gerald leaves a rich legacy and his deep wisdom will be greatly missed,” Arrowhead said in a statement.

Stenprop CEO Paul Arenson added that the company was greatly saddened by Leissner’s passing. “We were privileged to have Gerald as a chairperson and colleague, not only for his vast experience and knowledge of property where he was a legend in his life time, but also for his personal contribution to Stenprop. Gerald was a special man who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Gerald made a significant contribution to Stenprop and its staff during his tenure,” he noted.
