The project forms part of Chile’s national power transmission system, which aims to strengthen the grid to support the numerous renewable-energy generating facilities (wind and solar) being developed in the area.

The project includes the construction and operation of a 250 km electricity transmission line.

The double-circuit 220 kV line will link three substations. The contract includes building one of them.
