South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme may have hit a bit of a wobbly last year, owing to grid-connection problems. However, it remains one of the few bright spots on an otherwise bleak electricity horizon. Including this wind farm in the Eastern Cape, a total of 66 projects have now been approved under the scheme, with the outcome of the fourth bidding round expected soon.
