POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa 2018 wraps up with bigger plans for 2019

26th July 2018

Africa’s premier power sector conference and exhibition, POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa, wrapped up its 2018 edition in Johannesburg on a high note last week; announcing bigger plans for 2019.

POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa, now in its 6th year in South Africa, attracted over 2,100 delegates from 59 countries to the overall event and 689 delegates to the three-day conference when it was staged in Sandton in July.

Featuring 85 exhibitors from leading product and service providers around the world, 234 successful B2B meetings and a delegation of over 50 VIPs from the pan-African power sector, POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa 2018 assessed the state of the power sector in Africa, focusing on emerging trends and disruptive forces; as well as showcasing the latest approaches and technologies for solving power generation and distribution challenges.

In 2019, POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa will be co-located with leading African utility sector event, African Utility Week, following the acquisition of POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa organisers PennWell by Clarion Energy South Africa (Spintelligent) earlier this year.

African Utility Week, a premier meeting place for the entire power, energy and water infrastructure sector, attracts around 7,000 visitors each year. Its co-location with POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa in Cape Town from 14 - 16 May will deliver an end to end infrastructure and power conference and exhibition for the entire value chain, featuring around 450 exhibitors and attracting up to 10,000 visitors.
