Port-La-Nouvelle expansion.

Location
The project is located in south-western France.

Capital Expenditure
The project is estimated at €237-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Construction is under way and should be completed by mid-2023.

Latest Developments
A consortium comprising Bouygues Travaux Publics and Boskalis Nederland has been awarded a contract for the expansion project.

The consortium, lead by Bouygues Travaux Publics, will be responsible for Package 1, consisting of the creation of a harbour by extending the current southern seawall (600 m long), constructing a northern seawall (2 430 m long) and demolishing an existing seawall. All the seawalls will be reinforced by an upper layer of Accropodes of between 18 t and 45 t, premanufactured on site. These very highly resistant concrete blocks are designed to resist the action of waves on the seawalls.
