The project will be located in Sandersdorf-Brehna, in north-west Leipzig, Germany.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of Propapier’s state-of-the-art PM3 10 000 mm wire width paper machine on a 450 000 m2 plot.

The machine will manufacture corrugating medium and testliner within the grammage range of 80 g/m² to 150 g/m². After the start-up phase, the machine will produce 750 000 t/y of container board, with a working width of 9.20 m. Together with the PM1, in Burg, and PM2, in Eisenhüttenstadt, production capacity for containerboard will increase from 1.1-million tonnes a year to 1.85-million tonnes.

Potential Job Creation
About 140 state-of-the-art jobs will be created directly and an estimated 350 jobs will be created indirectly in the region.

€375-million.

Duration
The new machine will start operation in the second half of 2020.

Latest Developments
In July, Progroup contracted Voith to deliver the PM 3. Voith will supply the feeding system, BlueLine stock preparation, reject system, paper machine with hood and process air system, hall ventilation, reel spool transport system and winder. The new machine will have an operating speed of 1 600 m/min.
