Planetary gearboxes promise long-lasting, robust operation

The TGM WEG G3 planetary gearbox range boasts bearings designed for over 100 000 hours of operation

A line of planetary gearboxes, said to be among the world’s most robust, are designed to run for 10 years without needing a major service.

The gearboxes have an output torque range from 400 kNm to 8 750 kNm, boast bearings designed for over 100 000 hours of operation and are particularly suited to central drive applications in diffusers and sugar mills, where they are also used as pinionless and assist drives.

The G3 full line of planetary gearboxes from Zest WEG feature a high performance hydraulic system with quality lubricant oil filtration, with 10 micron absolute filtration elements and air-oil heat exchanger for optimal cooling.

The electronic monitoring system checks oil temperature, pressure and vibration variables to ensure the gearbox is not subject to over-torque, ensuring smooth and reliable operation within the established limits and allowing optimum equipment usage and reduced maintenance costs. In addition to their high mechanical efficiency and robust gear and bearing sets, the gearboxes are said to be flexible in their installation.

Manufactured in Brazil by WEG company TGM WEG, the gearboxes include components which are heat treated in accordance with API-6 standards.
