PeriLog—the new conference on food logistics

17th June 2015

Company Announcement - 'PeriLog', the new conference on food logistics, is to be held for the first time as part of logitrans, the International Transport Logistics Exhibition. In focus at PeriLog is the transportation and storage of perishable products, and cold-chain logistics, in particular logistics solutions for fresh products for the region of Eurasia. The 9th logitrans takes place from November 18 to 20, 2015 in the Expo Center ifm in Istanbul. More and more fresh produce is being transported, and this trend is set to continue, above all because of an increasing world population and rising incomes in many emerging countries. As a result the demands placed on logistics companies and supply chain management are also rising. With increasing volumes, the need for transparency along the longer and more complex food supply chain is becoming ever more urgent.

The new conference 'PeriLog', at logitrans, concentrates on the importance of food logistics for the Eurasian market. Last year Turkey exported over 3.5 million tonnes of fresh produce, around 17 percent went to the Middle East. Thanks to its geographical position, Turkey is an ideal marketplace and trade-fair location for this region.

To date many companies from all over Europe have registered to exhibit at logitrans. Interest is also high in space at the various national pavilions at the show. One such is the German Pavilion, being organized for the fifth time at logitrans by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. Companies wishing to exhibit at this pavilion still have time to apply—the deadline is August 7, 2015. And the Austrian Pavilion, organized by the Austrian Economic Chambers, already has eight signed-up participants. Here the deadline for applications is June 30, 2015.
