Parker Legris connectors for optical fibre networks enable overall cost optimisation while ensuring reliability of FTTx infrastructures

- The Fluid System Connectors Division Europe (formerly Legris) of Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has launched a new range of connectors for optic fibre networks. This completely new connection solution is fully dedicated to direct buried and direct install FTTx substructures and offers unsurpassed qualities in terms of robustness, adaptability and ease of use.

The result of an innovative design concept, the new range of connectors integrates all key elements necessary to comply with the constraints for installation and use of optical fibre networks over the long term. These include: Transparency, so that the micro-tubing connection can be seen and verified and high resistance to impact (15 joules); pressure (25 bar); flame (UL94 V-2); temperature; and major network expansion.

The watertight construction ensures the integrity of the cable is maintained and blowing over long distances without loss of pressure is optimised. With a compact profile, the connectors are ideal for use in space constrained manholes and distribution networks. Secure connections alleviate the risk if accidental disconnection.

The range is available in equal and unequal tube-to-tube versions, end caps, an end cap gas block connector, with or without a safety clip, and with diameters ranging from 5 mm to 16 mm.
