Exploration company Northstar Gold Corp has received confirmation from the Ontario Ministry of Mines that the company is eligible to receive a critical minerals exploration grant of up to $80 532 under the Ontario Junior Exploration Program (OJEP).

The company says the grant proceeds cover up to 50% of its 2023/24 critical minerals exploration expenditures at the Rosegrove copper/gold property.

The Rosegrove property is highly prospective for shear and alkaline intrusion-related copper/gold mineralisation.

“The success of Ontario’s mining sector starts with the important work that junior mining companies do during early exploration. Through the OJEP program, our government is investing to create meaningful opportunities for junior companies, like Northstar, to find the mines of the future.

“Incentivising early exploration will help our province remain globally competitive, find new deposits of critical minerals, and create new economic development and job opportunities for northern and Indigenous communities," comments Ontario Mines Minister George Pirie.

“Northstar is highly appreciative of this OJEP exploration grant from the Ontario Mines Ministry. Forward-thinking critical mineral exploration initiatives such as OJEP supplements qualified junior exploration companies access to the venture capital required to identify and advance early-stage critical minerals exploration projects in Canada,” Northstar CEO Brian Fowler adds.
