Ngonye (formerly Mosi-oa-Tunya) photovoltaic (PV) solar project.

Ngonye is located in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone, in southern Zambia.

Client
Ngonye will be owned by a special purpose vehicle in which Enel, acting through its Renewable Energies Division Enel Green Power (EGP), will hold 80% and the Zambia State-owned Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) 20%.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 34 MW solar PV project, which is expected to generate around 70 GWh/y.

The project was awarded in June 2016 in the first-round tender of the Scaling Solar programme, which was launched by the IDC.
