Since launching the Dynapac CP275 pneumatic-tyred asphalt roller, construc-tion equipment manufacturer Dynapac, a division of sustainable productivity solutions provider Atlas Copco, says the machine has been well received in the industry.
The CP275 was launched in September last year at the international construction machinery and building material trade fair bauma Africa.
“The machine incorporates new features that enhance efficiency, such as an automatic water-control system and tyre-oil spray system to prevent asphalt sticking to the machine. The CP275 also provides safety and operator comfort and produces high levels of compaction,” Atlas Copco road construction equipment business line manager Neville Marthinussen tells Engineering News.
He says the Dynapac CP275 is equipped with a “spacious platform”, with two operator seats, contributing to more efficient operation and providing high visibility for operators.
Further, Marthinussen highlights that the machines have a “spacious” roll-over protection structure cab and are equipped with air con-ditioning, which provides the operators with both safety and comfort.
He states that the new roller is powered by a 97 kW turbocharged and charge air-cooled Cummins QSB4.5 engine, with a 2 200 rpm output and thermostatically controlled cooling fans assisting in reducing ambient noise levels.
“Safety is also an important element of the CP275 design. “The dual-circuit braking system maintains full braking effect – even if one circuit is disabled,” Marthinussen points out.
Moreover, he points out that servicing the new machine is easy.
“Service interval periods are few, with the large hood and location of filters and filter caps speeding up routine service work. The front and rear tyres can be replaced individually,” Marthinussen explains.
The CP275 has a compaction width of 2 370 mm and operating weights from 14 000 kg to 27 000 kg.
