New Paintable Super Laykold Waterproofing Tape From A.B.E.

Company Announcement - a.b.e. Construction Chemicals has introduced a new addition to its popular super laykold range of  waterproofing  products: a locally-manufactured paintable flashing tape. a.b.e. is part of the Chryso Southern Africa Group. The new product, a.b.e. super laykold paintable flashing tape , is a bitumen-backed tape with a paintable fabric membrane overlay which can easily be applied by both waterproofing contractors and DIY home improvers before being coated with reputable quality, flexible acrylic roof paints.

The new paintable flashing tape is suitable for a wide variety of uses including as counter flashing to seal a torched-on membrane to a vertical upright position against a wall to seal off any water ingress through the join.  For ridge capping, it will assist in the bonding and sealing of metal and plastic piping; and it is also suitable for roof sheeting laps and can be applied to seal broken or loose pieces of torched-on waterproofing. The tape can also be used for gutter sealing, and flat roof repairs.a.b.e super laykold paintable flashing tape  is conformable and requires no heating or drying during application. The fact that it is preformed ensures consistent thickness. It is recommended that it is applied with a.b.e. indever primer to enhance bonding on most types of structures.

For the contractors’ market, the tape is available in 10m lengths and in widths of 100, 150, 250, 300, 450, and 600mm to suit specific applications, while the a.b.e. indever primer can be purchased separately according to needs.  For the DIY retail market, a.b.e. will provide super laykold paintable flashing tape in kit form comprising either 100mm or 250mm wide tape in 10m lengths, with proportionate amounts of primer included in the kit
