JSE-listed Nampak on Tuesday announced that CEO designate André de Ruyter would take over from current CEO Andrew Marshall on March 1, rather than only on April 1 as originally planned.

This change in takeover date was owing to the handover process having “proceeded well”, Nampak said, adding that Marshall would continue as an executive director and employee of Nampak until March 31.

De Ruyter, who previously held the position of senior group executive for global chemicals and North American operations at petrochemicals company Sasol, was first appointed Nampak executive director and CEO designate in January 2014.
