New-generation floor coatings for high traffic areas

Plascon has launched a range of new-generation floor coatings

Plascon has launched a new portfolio of floor coatings specifically designed to safeguard heavy-wear surfaces such as those used in hospitals, vehicle showrooms, warehouses and processing plants, as well as commercial and residential buildings.

Its glossy Floortect 1000 SB (formerly Epoxy floor coating) is designed to be non-skid and resistant to oils, grease and chemicals, making it suitable for floors that are frequently cleaned with detergents. The grey, tintable product can be used in commercial and residential buildings, in both living spaces and garages, as well as in warehouses and industrial units.

Floortect 2000 SB (formerly Plascothane Purecoat) is a moisture-cured urethane that is suitable for countertops and wooden floors, and for use in workshops, processing plants and industrial units. The clear, tintable, high-gloss product does not require mixing and is said to dry quickly, allowing up to three coats to be applied in a single day.

Plascon’s Floortect 3000 WB (formerly Gehopen 3000 WB) is a two-component water-based epoxy. Intended for residential buildings as well as commercial applications such as food-processing facilities, abattoirs, hospitals it can even be used in nuclear facilities, as it is nuclear-decontamination certified. The coating is said to be low odour, easy to clean and scrub resistant.

Another high-gloss product, Floortect 4000 SF (formerly Plascoguard 4000 HB) is an epoxy coating that is especially suited to high foot-traffic areas in factories and warehouses, food-processing plants and process areas, hospital theatres and labs, cold rooms, and aircraft hangars. Resistant to a range of chemicals, this light-grey product can be applied in a single coat.

The final product in Plascon’s new line-up is its Floortect 7 SB (formerly Plascon Gehopon Sealer 7 SB) which is a fast-drying epoxy used as a system primer. It can seal concrete to achieve a dust-free surface and is currently available in transparent green, with clear sealer to be available in the near future.

The company further highlights that its new floor coatings repel dirt and dust, are easy to use, with a smooth application and excellent adhesion, and also help to protect and extend the lifespan of the surface to which they are applied.
