The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has cancelled public hearings relating to Eskom’s Regulatory Clearing Account (RCA) application for the first year of the third multiyear price determination period, in the Free State, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

The hearings, which would have been held in Bloemfontein, Nelspruit and Polokwane between January 28 and February 3, were cancelled owing to no interested parties registering to present at the hearings.

Public hearings in KwaZulu-Natal, the North West, Northern Cape and Gauteng would proceed as scheduled.
