Project Description
Natalspruit Hospital will be a gateway clinic, comprising 771 beds and a modern crèche.

The hospital will include and accident, emergency and trauma unit, an adult intensive care and high care unit, a paediatric intensive care and high care unit, a psychiatric ward, a tuberculosis ward, and gynaecology and maternity services, as well as a burns unit.

Value
The hospital has, to date, cost more than R1.5-billion to build.

Duration
A date for the hospital opening will be communicated once construction has been completed and all the necessary equipment has been installed and tested.

Latest Developments
The hospital’s construction has been completed and the contractor’s snag list is about 90% complete.

The installation of the oxygen tank, radiology equipment and monitors in the control room, as well as the configuration of all CCTV cameras, are in progress.

The relocation of staff, the operational training of workers to manage the systems in the building, the procurement of equipment from abroad, the delivery and installation of biomedical equipment and the transfer of the property from the Ekurhuleni metropolitan municipality to the Gauteng Department of Health are also under way.
