The power plant will be located on the Rioni river, near Tskaltubo and Tsageri, in Georgia’s western region.

JSC Namakhvani.

The Clean Energy Group and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi construction conglomerates will develop, build, own and operate the Namakhvani project.

Project Description
The project is a perpetual build, own and operate agreement, and involves the construction of the 433 MW Namakhvani project, which comprises two new powerhouses – Namakhvani (333 MW) and Tvishi (100 MW), which will have estimated production rates of 1 171 GWh/y and 343 GWh/y respectively.

The Namakhvani dam will be 100 m high and the Tvishi dam 59 m high, and will have gross heads of 105 m and 33 m respectively.

The Namakhvani will feature 3+1 Francis turbines and Tvishi will feature two Kaplan turbines. Namakhvani will have a maximum discharge of 339 m3 and Tvishi 336 m3.
