Project Description
The project forms part of the initiative by the Mozambique government to establish universal access to electricity by 2030.

The project proposes the construction of a 100 MW PV plant, to be developed in increments of 20 MW to 40 MW.

A key feature of this solar plant is an energy storage facility with up to 50 MW of capacity, which will be located adjacent to the plant.

The Nacala solar project will be the largest in Mozambique once it reaches full scale.

Fieldstone Africa Investment Resources (Fair) has assisted WHN Solar in raising grant funding for the solar project. The grant for almost $1.2-million has been conferred by the US Trade and Development Agency for a feasibility study to assess the viability of the plant.
