JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – London-listed multicommodity miner Mwana Africa on Tuesday welcomed the appointment of two of its executives to the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe.

Freda Rebecca gold mine MD Toindepi Muganyi was appointed president of the chamber, while Trojan nickel mine MD Batirai Manhando was appointed first VP.

“We would like to thank the Chamber of Mines for appointing Toi and Batirai to these prominent and influential positions. It's a great honour for them to be recognised by their peers in this way, and it clearly demonstrates the faith that the government of Zimbabwe and the mining industry as a whole have in our mining operations and in the proven track records of these very experienced directors,” commented Mwana CEO Kalaa Mpinga.
