Telecommunications group MTN and information and communications technology investment holding company Business Connexion (BCX) have partnered to deliver local-area network (LAN) services and in-country communications support to MTN’s enterprise customers.

“Our partnership with BCX will allow MTN to offer enterprise customers a full end-to-end managed network service which will be a key differentiator for MTN on the continent,” explained MTN Group enterprise business unit acting executive Elia Tsouros in a statement on Wednesday.

BCX group executive director John Jenkins added that the partnership was formed to provide customers with the “world-class service they deserve”.

“Enterprise information technology services and leading wide-area network capabilities are seldom, if ever, core strengths of the same service provider,” he said, noting that the partnership allowed the supply of both these offerings to their customers.

The deal would see MTN assume responsibility for the value-added service of the day-to-day operational management of customers’ premises equipment and guaranteed that customers would receive high service levels and quick resolution to service-related problems.

“This will enable easier international communications for customers using our managed services. It will further relieve customers from concerns about putting in their own network or bearing the operational costs related to such a network. Our customers will enjoy the benefits of a completely outsourced network,” Tsouros concluded.
