Mpact expects share earnings to soar

JSE-listed plastic and paper packaging group Mpact expects its earnings per share (EPS) for the year ended December 31, 2012, to dramatically increase to between 185c and 192c a share from 54.9c a share for the previous year.

Similarly, headline earnings per share (HEPS) were expected to increase from 54.3c in 2011 to between 184c and 191c a share.

The increase in EPS was owing to lower finance costs as a result of net debt having been substantially reduced as part of the capital restructuring prior to listing in July 2011, as well as an improved trading performance.

Mpact would release its results for the year ended December 31, 2012, on March 7.
