JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Mining activities at a section of TSX- and Aim-listed Caledonia Mining’s Blanket mine, in Zimbabwe, resumed on Monday morning.

All activities at the Eroica orebody, which contributed 10% of production in the first quarter, had been halted at the weekend, pending a full risk assessment and on site investigation into a fatal accident that occurred on May 12.

"[The fatality] is a serious setback in our efforts to continuously improve safety at Blanket mine. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, colleagues and friends of the deceased,” said CEO Steve Curtis.
