The project will extend the current hospital.

Additional floors and a new, five-storey family ward-type facility will be built. Existing facilities will be repositioned and renovated while the hospital remains active – a key consideration in the design and construction phases.

The project will consolidate the facilities of the hospital district and Mikkeli’s social and health services by an estimated 20%.

The centralisation of the facilities will improve and enhance the services provided for the residents while enabling savings.
