Project Description
The Mariner East project transports natural gas liquids from the Marcellus and Utica Shales areas, in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio to destinations in Pennsylvania, including Sunoco’s Marcus Hook industrial complex on the Delaware river, where they are processed, stored and distributed to local, domestic and waterborne markets.

The first phase of the project, referred to as Mariner East 1, consisted of interstate and intrastate propane and ethane services.

Mariner East 2 will expand the total takeaway capacity to 275 000 bbl/d interstate and intrastate propane, ethane and butane services.

Mariner East 2 is expected to start operations in the first half of 2017.

Latest Developments
Fluor Corporation has been awarded a construction management contract for the project. The company will manage the construction of new terminal facilities to store, chill, process and distribute propane, butane and ethane at the complex.
