The Malawi Roads Authority (MRA) is inviting bids for the construction of the 82 km Thyolo–Thekerani–Muona–Makhanga road in the south of the country.
The project will be jointly financed by the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development and Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa.
MRA CEO Trevor Hiwa says the project will involve upgrading the narrow earth road to a bituminen-surfaced road and the construction of pipe culverts and box ridges, as well as the rehabilitation of one bridge.
The works also includes side drains, stone pitching, gabions, kerbs and road signs and markings.
Hiwa says the project’s envisaged duration is 36 months.
Bid documents are obtainable upon the submission of a written application and payment of a nonrefundable fee of $100.
The deadline for the submission of bids is December 1.
