Lumwana uranium project, Zambia.

Project Description
A feasibility study at the Lumwana copper mine has confirmed the potential viability of an on-site uranium treatment in a dedicated uranium plant designed to treat 900 000 t/y of ore, producing an estimated two-million pounds a year of yellowcake and 12 800 t/y of copper concentrate.

Value
The treatment plant is expected to cost $200-million.

Duration
The project will take between 18 months and 24 months to build once the funds and offtake deals are in place.

Uranium ore is being stockpiled as it is mined and most of it is likely to be on surface around March 2011.
