• Every injury prevented helps contain costs;
• Lesedi’s practices aim for zero claims because prioritising safety helps avoid both medical costs and lost-time costs;
• The benefit of zero lost time injury is to keep employees on the job in order to enhance both productivity and profitability.

Lesedi Nuclear Services is proud to announce a significant milestone in its safety culture. Over the past six years, the company reached an all-time record of 3million LTI (lost time Injury) free man-hours!

This outstanding achievement is a true testament of Lesedi’s commitment to safety; effectively translated into action when it comes to creating and maintaining safe working practices. Underpinning this safety culture and Lesedi’s success are the following precepts:

Commenting on this, Francis Carruthers, Lesedi’s CEO, has this to say, “Safety has always been at the core of our business and we pride ourselves in the investment we have made to uphold such records in all our operations. It remains a priority throughout all of our operations and has become an entrenched culture within the organisation. It is for this reason that we continually improve our performance, striving for excellence in health and safety at all times. It is also for this reason that we have to celebrate this achievement, because it comes after much concerted effort by all of us in the company.”

Lesedi’s people are its key assets. Celebrating the achievement of ‘3 Million LTI Free Man-Hours’ in the energy sector is an important distinguisher, as it says a lot about any company operating in this field. This is particularly so in the current climate in which there is renewed focus on nuclear energy and its potential risks and benefits for the country.

Carruthers concludes, “we congratulate each and every one of our employees on this auspicious milestone; as there is little doubt in our minds that we would have come this far without their contribution!’
