Project Description
The proposed Leidy Southeast project will expand the Leidy Line’s currently subscribed firm transportation capacity of 1.7-million dekatherms by about 30%. It will provide firm transportation from various supply points along the Leidy Line to delivery points along its main-line system as far south as Transco’s existing Station 85 Zone 4 and 4A Pooling Points, in Choctaw County, Alabama.

The expansion will primarily consist of about 48 km of new pipe and horsepower additions at existing compressor stations, at various locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, in addition to existing facility modifications along its main line.

Value
The capital cost of the project is estimated at $610-million.

Duration
If approved, compressor station construction will begin in the second half of 2014, with pipeline construction in the following year.

Latest Developments
Williams Partners’ Transco natural gas pipeline has filed an application to expand the existing Leidy Line, in northern Pennsylvania, and its main line from New Jersey through Alabama by 525 000 dekatherms a day of natural gas to serve growing natural gas markets along the system.
