Project Description
The project is a greenfield natural-gas-fired CCGT power plant with an installed capacity of up to about 928 MW, including an associated 119 km, 380 kV transmission line.

The cost of the project is estimated at $1-billion.

The project is expected to take 30 months to complete.
Latest Developments
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is considering a loan of up to $300-million, while the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development is considering cofinancing the project.
Acwa plans to sign the engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Samsung C&T and to start construction in late 2014.
