PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold developer Kingsrose Mining has appointed Michael Moore as its new CEO, effective immediately.

Moore is a mining engineer with more than 15 years' operational and management experience, and has held senior and executive management positions with a number of companies, including Carnegie Minerals and more recently Montezuma Mining Company, where he was CEO.

“Moore’s operational knowledge and management experience will be invaluable as we push ahead with the next stage of our strategy to unlock the value of Talang Santo,” said Kingsrose executive chairperson John Morris.

“The review being undertaken by independent consultants shows that the Talang Santo performance could be improved significantly by implementing alternative mining methods.

“This process is under way and Moore’s knowledge will help us make these changes as smoothly and effectively as possible,” Morris said.

Kingsrose is focusing on three key areas to improve production at Talang Santo, in Indonesia, including improving development rates, recovering remnant pillars to boost short-term production, and ensuring suitable mine planning and production systems are in place.
