PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Kingsgate Consolidated has sold its first gold from the Chatree gold mine, in Thailand.

The miner on Thursday reported the first two shipments of doré bars from Chatree, which were refined and sold, yielding 924 oz of gold and 7 647 oz of silver, worth an estimated A$3-million.

Kingsgate told shareholders that gold refining was now running smoothly with weekly gold pours, shipments to the refiners, and payments to the company. Refining ounces are expected to trend upwards with new carbon having been added to the leach tanks.

Chatree was officially reopened in March this year, and the project poured its first gold later that month.
