Client
Oriental Renewable Solutions, a subsidiary of the Oriental Group, together with GreenWish Partners, will develop the Jigawa project.

Project Description
The Jigawa solar project will have an output of about 96 GWh/y.

The plant will also generate estimated savings of about 354 000 t/y of carbon dioxide.

Oriental signed a 20-year, dollar-denominated power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trader for the Jigawa project in July 2016. The agreement forms part of a wider NBET process to sign PPAs to deliver 1.2 GW of solar generation capacity to the Nigerian grid, the first series of solar PPAs ever signed in Nigeria.

Jobs to be Created
The plant will also create 300 jobs during construction and 25 permanent jobs during operations.
