INEOS European expansion plan, Europe

Name of the Project
INEOS European expansion plan.

Location
Europe.

Client
INEOS.

Project Description
INEOS plans to build a world-scale propane dehydrogenation unit. The plant will produce 750 000 t/y of propylene for the company’s facilities across the continent.

Several possible locations are being considered, including a number of INEOS sites in Antwerp, Belgium.

INEOS also intends to increase the ethylene capacity of its cracker facilities at Grangemouth, in Scotland, and Rafnes, in Norway, to more than one million tonnes each.

The project has been made possible because of INEOS’s massive $2-billion investment in its Dragon ships programme, which allows it to import ethane and liquefied petroleum gas from the US in large quantities.
