Information and communication technology (ICT) provider Netshield South Africa, a Westcon-Comstor Southern Africa company, launched the product range of leading microwave research and production company Youncta in Pretoria earlier this month.

Netshield is the sole distributor of Youncta products in Southern Africa.
Youncta was formed from the merger of leading Russian microwave research company Micran and a group of Italian engineers.

Youncta has established itself as a leader in the collaboration and communications space since the merger, and provides working point-to-point microwave backhaul businesses communication and networking solutions.

“We are extremely pleased to have been appointed the distributor for Youncta in Southern Africa. The addition of Youncta’s innovative portfolio of communication and collaboration solutions to Netshield’s product offerings will bolster our business and give our customers access to some truly exciting technology,” says Netshield South Africa CEO Inus Dreckmeyr.
Youncta was founded off the back of extensive microwave communication knowledge and a belief that tradition must be accompanied by other technologies, such as ubiquitous management, software defined networks, high security standards and advanced radio techniques, among others.

“We chose Netshield South Africa as our distributor for the region because of its established name in the industry, as a company that thinks differently and will go above and beyond to provide customers with products that fit their businesses. This is a partnership that is aimed at growing our business in the region and we are sure that Netshield will make that happen,” says Youncta Southern Africa regional manager Christo van Rooyen.
Netshield will distribute the Youncta range of products, such as the Y-Packet, a high-capacity outdoor radio platform that meets the requirements of wireless Internet service providers, Internet service providers and corporate markets.

Further, the Y-Packet is easy to install, interoperable with other equipment in the network and easily integrated with third-party network management systems at a low cost of ownership.
